1. Currency Disclaimer (Formal)

  • The ATHR system provides a fictional, roleplay-only currency (“RP Money” or "Prize Tickets") that exists solely for entertainment, competitive tracking, and in-world roleplay purposes.
  • RP Money has no cash value and cannot be redeemed, exchanged, or converted into Linden Dollars (L$), U.S. Dollars (USD), or any other real-world or digital currency.
  • Ownership of RP Money does not grant users any rights, claims, or entitlements beyond its use within ATHR-supported games, apps, and venues.
  • Any resemblance between RP Money and real-world financial instruments is purely coincidental and unintended.

2. What ATHR Is

Acronymized Trade Holdings Resources (ATHR) is a web-based backend system for games and roleplay systems in Second Life.

  • Developed by Rez Gray to support various games with similar backend mechanics.
  • Used for roleplay currency, competitive tracking, and inventory/resource systems.

3. Key Terms

  • Venue or Locale – Privately owned land that wants its own roleplay money, inventory, or resource systems.
  • App – A grid-wide application or game running on ATHR.
  • RP Money or RP Currency – Fake currency earned in-venue by roleplay activities, used for in-venue purchases or rewards.
  • Loiter or Dwell – Some venues may pay RP Money for simply hanging out to increase traffic metrics.
  • Agent – You, the SL Resident.
  • Region (Sim) – A parcel of Second Life land.

4. User Privacy

  • ATHR is designed with user privacy in mind. We do not collect, process, or have access to any real-world identifying information.

6. Privacy & Removal

  • ATHR does not collect or process any personally identifiable information (PII) or real-world data.
  • Because no personal data is collected or stored, ATHR falls outside the scope of GDPR, CCPA, or other real-world privacy regulations.

  • Use ATHR in any gambling systems.

9. Admin & Venue Owner Rights

Admins and Venue Owners may:

  • Refuse service, including banning Agents from venues or ATHR systems.
  • Edit/sanitize user inputs for security or vulgarity.
  • Modify any venue-specific variables (including payouts).
  • View transaction histories within their venue system.
  • Adjust account balances.
  • Decline refunds for ATHR or L$ transactions.
  • Change this EULA without prior notice.

10. Liability

ATHR and its operators:

  • Are not liable for any damages, losses, or issues.
  • Provide no warranties or guarantees of any kind.

11. Playful Disclaimers (Read with a Smile)

  • This system is absolutely not designed or intended to replace Linden Dollars (L$) or real-world money. It’s board game money for roleplay fun.
  • In instances where L$ are paid into ATHR, that money goes directly to the developer, venue holder, or vendor owner.
  • There is no way to get L$ or real-world money back out of ATHR.
  • If we did handle real money, it would require lawyers, bankers, and insurance agents — and nobody’s paying us enough for that kind of headache.
  • Linden Lab’s legal department frowns heavily on alternate currency schemes, and would happily eat our kidneys for lunch if we tried it.
  • The U.S. Government also doesn’t look kindly on currencies they didn’t mint themselves — so, again, no real money here.

⚠️ Reminder: This is all for fun and roleplay. Don’t take it too seriously, don’t blur the lines with real money, and don’t make us risk our kidneys (or attract government regulators).
